New Responsive Website

recently I felt like my website was not really practical to use and I thought it would be a good idea to design it again from scratch. My old website like many other websites had a main column with a fixed width and lots of space on both side depending on your computer screen. While this was a fine design few years back, I believe it is now an obsolete way to design websites. We browse internet on so many devices, so I needed a responsive website that would be fluid and adapt to different screen size.

My goal was to build a simple website easy to understand and navigate, and one that would be optimised to use as much screen estate as possible, because why would you need to scroll down to see more content when you have unused space on each side?!? so now in the new layout you can preview 12 articles instead of 2 in my previous website. I design my new website entirely with percentage and relative font size instead of pixels . That way if you view it on a 13″ 15″ or 17″ computer screen it will look the exact same. And the content and navigation bar will adapt when viewed on a mobile device. Since I designed my first website my understanding of Html5 and CSS have advanced quite a bit  thanks to this wonderful website CSS-tricks.com which I highly recommend to learn and understand how CSS works. My next goal will be to learn javascript in order to make my own customised galleries and elements behaviour.
